Operating Directors

DeltaPoint maintains a team of Operating Directors who provide senior leadership to the firm and its portfolio companies. They assist the firm with deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio company management at the Board of Directors level. The Operating Directors are available to consult with portfolio company management teams on operational issues and serve as mentors to the senior executives. Operating Directors maintain frequent contact with portfolio company management teams and participate in regular on site management meetings. In addition to their portfolio company management role, the Operating Directors serve an important role in portfolio investment analysis and management recruiting and planning at the portfolio company level.

Stephen C. McCluski

Operating Director

Mr. McCluski was senior vice president and chief financial officer of Bausch & Lomb until his retirement in 2007. Mr. McCluski joined Bausch & Lomb in 1988 as director - financial planning and analysis for the former Personal Products Division. He was named vice president and controller for the former Eyewear Division in 1989, and in 1992, he was named president of the company's former Outlook Eyewear subsidiary. He was named a corporate vice president and controller in 1994. He was named senior vice president and chief financial officer in 1995. Prior to joining Bausch & Lomb, Mr. McCluski held a variety of positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Rochester, NY, and Hartford, Connecticut.

Mr. McCluski was born in Rochester, NY, in June 1952. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY. Mr. McCluski is a member of the boards of directors of ImmunoGen, Inc.; Indevus Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; the Wilmot Cancer Center of the University of Rochester; and is a trustee at Ithaca College.

Thomas Merkel

Operating Director

Mr. Merkel has over 30 years of experience in general management, sales & marketing, finance & accounting. He serves as local Chairman of Vistage, a leadership development organization. He has held numerous leadership positions: President & CEO, vice president of sales & marketing, vice president of finance and controller. Mr. Merkel has acquired, started and sold several businesses over the last 20 years. Prior to that, he held various positions with Nabisco and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Merkel is a New York State CPA, and earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from Ithaca College and an MBA from Rutgers University.

Joseph P. Richardson

Operating Director

Joseph P. Richardson has over 47 years of corporate banking experience and, throughout his career, has worked with thousands of companies that are located in DeltaPoint's targeted geography. In 2009, Mr. Richardson retired from his role at Berkshire Bank, where he had served as New York Regional Executive. Prior to his experience at Berkshire, he had served myriad roles at Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce, State Bank of Albany, Albany Charter One, and RBS Citizens Bank, along with numerous committee and board seats.

Currently, Mr. Richardson is a Trustee at St. Lawrence University; a Director and Treasurer of the Terramere Homeowners Association; Event Treasurer for the annual CDPHP Workforce Team Challenge Road Race and Board Chair at WMHT Educational Telecommunications. He was re-appointed to The Town of Bethlehem Industrial Development Agency in July, 2006. Mr. Richardson has been awarded the Sam Walton Business Leadership Award; The Leukemia Society of America Chairman's 50th Anniversary Citation and was recognized in 2009 by the Albany TIMES UNION as "A Dozen Who Make a Difference in the Capital Region".

Mr. Richardson earned a BA in Economics from St. Lawrence University and a graduate degree from the Stonier School of Banking at Rutgers University. He holds several Graduate Diplomas from the University of Oklahoma National Commercial Lending School and is a Certified Commercial Lender as designated by the American Bankers Association.

George F.T. Yancey, Jr.

Operating Director

Mr. Yancey was President of Perry's Ice Cream in Akron, New York from 1994 until February 2000 and prior to that he served as President of Heluva Good Cheese from 1984 to 1994. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Cook Moving Systems, Specialty Foods Group, Inc., and Lifetime Healthcare. Mr. Yancey is also on the Board of the United Way of Greater Rochester and is on the Board of Trustees, Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Finance Committee of Paul Smith's College. He is also one of three Commissioners of the Greater Rochester Sports Authority, and has just recently finished his term as President of the NYS Forest Owners Association. Mr. Yancey previously served on the Board of Sear Brown Group, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and AAA.

Hugh Quigley

Operating Director

Mr. Quigley originally worked as the Manufacturing Manager at AeroTitanium Inc. for four years before co-founding Dynabil Industries, Inc., a former Fund III portfolio company along with Michael Grosso. Mr. Quigley currently serves as Vice Chairman of Greene County Industrial Development Agency, Co-Chair of the Greene County YMCA Capital Campaign, and on the Board of Directors of Rutland Plastic Technologies North Carolina and New Jersey. Mr. Quigley was also a member of the AIA Board of Governors in 2002, and is currently a member of many professional and technical organizations, including SNT, ASME, ASM and NSPE.

Mr. Quigley has a Bachelor of Science degree from Manhattan College, is a New York State licensed professional engineer and was elected Small Business Administration Small Business Person of the Year for New York State in 2005.

Michael D. Grosso

Operating Director

Mr. Grosso originally worked as the Manufacturing Manager at AeroTitanium Inc. for four years before co-founding Dynabil Industries, Inc., a former Fund III portfolio company along with Hugh Quigley.

Mr. Grosso is affiliated with several organizations including the Chief Executive Network (Founder and current Director Emeritus), Center for Economic Growth, and the 50 Group where he is a member. He currently sits on the Advisory Boards of KinetiCast Inc. and Enview Designs LLC. Mr. Grosso was a member of the New York State Banking Board from 1996-2002 and was elected Small Business Administration Small Business Person of the Year for New York State in 2005.

Mr. Grosso earned a BS degree from Fordham University and an MBA from Long Island University.
