David H. Waterman
Managing Director
Mr. Waterman has over 33 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, finance and general management. Prior to co-founding DeltaPoint in 1996, Mr. Waterman was Executive Managing Director of Capital Formation Group, an investment banking and mergers and acquisitions advisory firm co-founded by Mr. Waterman in 1992. Prior to founding Capital Formation Group, Mr. Waterman was Vice President, Investment Banking at First Albany Corporation and was Vice President, Corporate Banking for Fleet/Norstar Bank. Mr. Waterman currently serves on the Board of Directors of IPLogic, Inc., a professional services company focusing on voice and data networking and current Fund III portfolio company, and Sigma Marketing Group, LLC, a data analytics and marketing services provider and current Fund III portfolio company. Mr. Waterman previously served on the Board of Directors of PCore Electric Company, Inc., a manufacturer and distributor of high voltage bushings used by electrical utility companies and a former Fund III portfolio company, and Horizon Aerospace, LLC, a manufacturer of aircraft instruments and a former Fund I portfolio company. Mr. Waterman received his Bachelor of Arts degree from State University of New York at Albany.
Thomas W. Cimino
Managing Director
Mr. Cimino has over 34 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, finance, marketing, and general management. Prior to co-founding DeltaPoint in 1996, Mr. Cimino was Managing Director of Capital Formation Group, an investment banking and mergers and acquisitions advisory firm co-founded by Mr. Cimino in 1992. Prior to founding Capital Formation Group, Mr. Cimino spent 22 years in various industries where he held the positions of President and Chief Operating Officer, Controller, Vice President of Manufacturing, Vice President of Marketing and Senior Vice President and General Manager, Worldwide Operations. Mr. Cimino currently serves on the Board of Directors of High Falls Brewing, LLC, a malt brewer and current Fund II portfolio company, Genesee Valley Trust Company, a personal investment and trust advisor, and Badger Technologies, Inc., a contract electronics manufacturer and current Fund III portfolio company. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of DynaBil Industries, Inc., an aerospace component supplier and current Fund III portfolio company. Mr. Cimino is a graduate of the University of Rochester where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics
Kevin M. Halpin
Vice President
Mr. Halpin has over 10 years of experience in private equity, investment banking and finance. Prior to joining Manager, Mr. Halpin was a member of Capital Formation Group where he serviced clients in the areas of mergers & acquisitions, recapitalizations, restructurings and valuations. Prior to joining Capital Formation Group, Mr. Halpin held positions in retail banking and trust administration at Fleet Bank. Mr. Halpin is on the Board of Directors of Badger Technologies, Inc., a contract electronics manufacturer and current Fund III portfolio company, and DynaBil Industries, Inc., an aerospace component supplier and current Fund III portfolio company. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Upstate Venture Association of New York. Mr. Halpin received a Master of Science degree from Rochester Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science degree from State University of New York College at Fredonia.
Padraic E. McConville
Senior Associate
Mr. McConville joined DeltaPoint Capital Management, LLC in July of 2005 as an Analyst. He is responsible for providing support in the areas of valuation, due diligence, transaction execution, deal sourcing, portfolio administration, and fund administration. Prior to joining DeltaPoint Capital Management, LLC, Mr. McConville participated in the British Universities North America Club where he was awarded a four month working visa in Ireland, and a six month working visa in the United Kingdom. Mr. McConville earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and English from the State University of New York at Geneseo, Magna Cum Laude, where he was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
Jason R. Hall, Senior
Senior Associate
Mr. Hall joined DeltaPoint Capital Management, LLC in 2007 as an intern, leading to full-time employment in June of 2008. He is responsible for providing support in the areas of valuation, due diligence, transaction execution, deal sourcing, portfolio administration, and fund administration. Prior to joining DeltaPoint, Mr. Hall worked as an account manager for CDW, a Fortune 500 reseller of technology products and services. Mr. Hall earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Michigan, and an M.B.A. from the Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester where he was a William E. Simon Leadership Fellow.
Operating Directors
DeltaPoint maintains a team of Operating Directors who provide senior leadership to the firm and its portfolio companies. They assist the firm with deal sourcing, due diligence, and portfolio company management at the Board of Directors level. The Operating Directors are available to consult with portfolio company management teams on operational issues and serve as mentors to the senior executives. Operating Directors maintain frequent contact with portfolio company management teams and participate in regular on site management meetings. In addition to their portfolio company management role, the Operating Directors serve an important role in portfolio investment analysis and management recruiting and planning at the portfolio company level.
Joseph P. Richardson
Operating Director
Mr. Richardson is currently the Regional Lender for the New York Region of Berkshire Bank. After 42 years in corporate banking, he retired in February 2005 as Senior Vice President at Citizens Bank NA. He is a former President of the Empire Chapter of Robert Morris Associates and a founding director and first president of Capital Affordable Housing Partnership. He serves on the board of several organizations and is active in community fundraising and economic development initiatives. Mr. Richardson is a Trustee at St. Lawrence University, a Trustee and Treasurer at WMHT Educational Telecommunications and a member of the Town of Bethlehem Industrial Development Agency. Mr. Richardson received a BA in Economics with minors in English and Psychology from St. Lawrence University and a Graduate Degree at the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University in 1978.
Mr. Richardson has recently announced his retirement from Berkshire Bank, effective June 30, 2008. He has agreed to join DeltaPoint as an Operating Director upon retirement.
George F.T. Yancey, Jr.
Operating Director
Mr. Yancey was President of Perry’s Ice Cream from 1994 until February 2000 and prior to that he served as President of Heluva Good Cheese from 1984 to 1994. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Cook Moving Systems, Specialty Foods Group, Inc., and Lifetime Healthcare. Mr. Yancey is also on the Board of the United Way of Greater Rochester and is on the Board of Trustees, Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of the Finance Committee of Paul Smith’s College. He is also one of three Commissioners of the Greater Rochester Sports Authority, and has just recently finished his term as President of the NYS Forest Owners Association. Mr. Yancey previously served on the Board of Sear Brown Group, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and AAA.
Thomas Merkel
Operating Director
Mr. Merkel has over 30 years of experience in general management, sales & marketing, finance & accounting. He serves as local Chairman of Vistage, a leadership development organization. He has held numerous leadership positions in various businesses during his career, including, president & CEO, vice president of sales & marketing, vice president of finance and controller. Mr. Merkel has acquired, started and sold several businesses over the last 20 years. Prior to that, he held various positions with Nabisco and Price Waterhouse Coopers (formerly Coopers & Lybrand). Mr. Merkel is a New York State CPA, and earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from Ithaca College and an MBA from Rutgers University.
Stephen C. McCluski
Operating Director
Mr. McCluski was previously a Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Bausch & Lomb until his retirement in 2007. Mr. McCluski joined Bausch & Lomb in 1988 as Director – Financial Planning and Analysis for the former Personal Products Division. He was named Vice President and Controller for the former Eyewear Division in 1989, and in 1992, he was named President of the company's former Outlook Eyewear subsidiary. He was named a Corporate Vice President and Controller in 1994. He was named Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 1995. Prior to joining Bausch & Lomb, Mr. McCluski held a variety of positions at Price Waterhouse in Rochester, NY, and Hartford, Connecticut. Mr. McCluski was born in Rochester, NY, in June 1952. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ithaca College, Ithaca, NY. Mr. McCluski is a member of the Boards of Directors of ImmunoGen, Inc., Indevus Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and the Wilmot Cancer Center of the University of Rochester, and is a trustee at Ithaca College.
